Vue de la via degli Orefici. Le Palazzo re Enzo est un palais du XIIIe siècle. Il tient son nom d'Enzio de Sardaigne, fils illégitime de Frédéric II, qui y a été emprisonné de 1249 jusqu'à sa mort en 1272. Le palais a été construit en 1245 en complément du Palazzo del Podestà, qui s'était révélé insuffisant pour les exigences de la Commune de Bologne. Il a été initialement connu sous le nom de Palatium Novum (« Nouveau palais »).
