CATEDRAL DE VALENCIA - CATHEDRAL OF VALENCIA by Miquel Fabré

Apart from the conferences and round tables, there were also some tourist circuits that with some buses took us to visit the most prominent places in Valencia. Among them was the Cathedral of Valencia, more specifically the "CATHEDRAL OF SANTA MARIA DE VALENCIA" that was built between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries in a Valencian Gothic style where there had previously been a mosque. Inside, the Holy Chalice is venerated, dated from the 1st century, and given to the cathedral by King Alfonso the Magnanimous in 1436. It contains some of the first and best paintings of the Quattrocento of the entire Iberian Peninsula, which arrived from Rome through artists contracted by Alexander VI. This last Valencian Pope, when he was still Cardinal Rodrigo de Borja, made the request to elevate the headquarters of Valentina to the rank of Metropolitan, a category that was granted to him by Pope Innocent VIII in 1492. As I am not very interested in the enormous amount of data provided by the tour guide, I dedicated myself to photographing what is my thing. This altar full of important paintings, was what most caught my attention. Then I corrected the perspectives giving it the vanishing point to the right so as not to not center it too and take advantage of the light illuminating the paintings. If you enlarge the image by clicking on it, you will see it much better and with all the details of the altarpiece
