Ancient Font in Apollonia by gordontour

At Apollonia, Susah in Libya. Whilst some of the churches in the area sufferred during the disputes over Arianism and the ideas of Arius during the early fourth century, the great earthquake of 365 damaged or destroyed far more and many settlements on the Libyan coast were severely effected. Some were rebuilt and others abandoned, their ruins submerged by the sea or sands o' time.
